Vigor2927 series includes Dual WAN broadband security firewall routers which feature 2 Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports, 5 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and 2 USB ports for connection to either 3G / 4G / LTE modem (for use as a backup connection) or a printer. In addition, it supports VPN, QoS, firewall, content filtering and bandwidth management.

WAN ports can be set either in Load Balancing mode, which is permanently active, or in Failover mode, which is activated only in case the connection is lost or there is an increased load on the primary connection.

Vigor2927 series routers support High Availability (Hardware Redundancy) which allows one or more Vigor2927 series routers to be added to the network and run in standby mode. They support up to 50 VPN channels of which 25 can be SSL protocol. They support LAN-to-LAN and Host-to-LAN VPN, with all known PPTP, L2TP, IPsec, GRE and SSLVPN protocols, as well as VPNTrunking (for load balancing or failover) for fast and stable VPN connection. Also, Vigor2927 series support a powerful VPN server, ideal for businesses with branches or people working remotely, while it is compatible with all common industry standard protocols and third-party VPN devices.

In addition, they have a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) Firewall and flexible filtering rules. With Cyren's annual subscription to Web Content Filtering, websites are filtered by category and restrictions can be placed to ban entire website categories (such as social networking pages, gambling, etc.) without having to block every single site. A free 30-day trial is available.

Moreover, it supports Hotspot Web Portal for User Authentication via Facebook / Google account or PIN entry.

Vigor2927ax supports 802.11ax wireless protocol delivering high speed wireless connection of 2402Mbps at 5G WLAN (802.11ax 2x2 MU-MIMO) and 574Mbps at 2.4G WLAN (802.11ax 2x2 MIMO). Specifically, the 2.4G 802.11n 2x2 MIMO achieves a speed of 400Mbps, while the 5G 802.11ac Wave 2 2x2 MU-MIMO achieves a speed of 867Mbps.

All Vigor2927 series models can act as a central management console for other Vigor devices on the network, including VigorAPs and VigorSwitches, while they can manage up to 20 Access Points (VigorAPs) and up to 10 VigorSwitches.
